Value Inculcation Programme
The Value Inculcation Programme (VIP) is a new initiative that which was launched in 2003. The objective of this programme is to build character in our pupils through the inculcation of the four core values of the school - Care, Respect, Teamwork and Lifelong Learning.
The programme aims to use different means to increase pupils' interest and understanding of the school core values, and motivating them to practise these values. The ultimate aim is for pupils to look beyond themselves to the needs of others, pupils who appreciate and respect differences among each other as adding to the strength of the community and pupils who are reflective and constantly wanting to learn and try new ways of doing things so that the school community improves.
The Outstanding Classroom Award (OCA) is tied to the value inculcation programme (VIP) and the personal and social effectiveness programme( PSE). Pupils will be awarded stickers if they exhibit the values or positive habits in their behaviour. The classes that have the most stickers will be the winner. In 2008, each term, 2 classes per level (the class with the most stickers and the class that has shown improvement) will be awarded a teabreak in the canteen. This also provides the opportunity for class bonding.
