Personal & Social Effectiveness (PSE) Programme

"While we are free to choose our actions, we are not free to choose the consequences of our actions."

- Stephen R. Covey

Our Vision
Towards personally and socially effective leaders

Our Mission
We aim to develop self-directed learners by cultivating in them critical life skills through developing effective personal and social habits

PSE Framework

Circle Time
Circle time is set aside to:

• bond with pupils;
• create opportunities to build PSE habits;
• get pupils focused for the week

for P1-P6 pupils on every Monday
AM session - 7.25am to 7.55 am
PM session - 12.25 pm to 12.55 pm

PSE Progress Report
To ensure that pupils apply/practise the habits they have learnt, an instrument was created to measure the progress of pupils' habits. This is the PSE Progress Report. Since year 2006, Primary 5 and 6 pupils were involved in the PSE programme. This year, the report has also been extended to include Primary 4 pupils.

PSE Toolkit
The rationale behind the PSE Toolkit is to provide teachers and pupils with the necessary tools to facilitate the use of effective personal and social habits for pupils' own individual or peer learning and also interaction with their peers. It comprises of:

(i) Pupil's Companion
(ii) Personal Learning Journal in Pupils' Companion
(iii) Target-Setting & Time-Management Template

PSE Week
To promote the use of the Seven Habits, pupils designed and created bookmarks, badges, comic strips, stories and raps, depicting the meanings of 7 habits.

PSE Reality Game
The objective of the Reality Game is to build effective habits like Be Proactive, Have an End in Mind, Think Win-Win and Synergize. Pupils designed their own games, prepared resources, planned their prizes and even thought of gimmicks to attract customers to patronise their stalls in a Games Carnival. Their target is to raise funds for the needy pupils.
