The English Language instructional programmes in the classroom are aligned with the principles of language learning and teaching in the EL Syllabus. The following principles are embedded in the instructional programmes:

English Language Support Programmes

The Learning Support Programme

The Learning Support Programme is a specialized language and literacy programme. It aims to provide additional support to pupils to help them cope with mainstream work.

Bridging Programme

The bridging programme aims at providing support to the Primary One pupils who have exhibited reading difficulties.

Reading Programme

Weekly structured reading programme is carried out in all classes using the class library readers (provided by MOE). This aims to bring up the literacy level of all pupils and to inculcate the love of reading among the pupils.

USSR

Uninterrupted Sustained Silent Reading is carried out thrice a week before school begins. This programme inculcates the habit of reading amongst pupils.

P1 and P2 : Speech and Drama Workshop
P3 and P4 : Public Speaking Workshop
P5 and P6 : Literature-cum-Comprehension Workshop
